There is a requirement for flood risk assessments for almost all developments, due to climate change and the increase in flooding to urban areas in recent years. Assessment are required to illustrate to the local authorities and Environment Agency all potential sources of flooding to a site, and the resilience and resistance measures required to prevent flooding.
